The HVF Test is performed at Tetravue Superspeciality Eye Centre. The Humphrey visual field test, also known as perimetry, is a diagnostic test used to measure visual fields. The Humphrey visual field test evaluates the entire area of peripheral vision visible while focusing the eye on a central point. During this test, lights of varying intensities appear in different parts of the visual field while the patient's eye is focused on a specific spot. To determine if any damage has occurred, the patient's perception of these lights is charted and compared to the results of a healthy eye at the same age. This 20-minute procedure is useful for diagnosing and monitoring glaucoma. This test will be performed on a regular basis for glaucoma patients to monitor the disease's progression. The Humphrey visual field test can also detect conditions in the optic nerve of the eye as well as certain neurological conditions.
